Maegan Reichert

Maegan Reichert is a native of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; the home of Priefert Manufacturing. As we watched her grow up, it became more and more apparent that her winning ways in the barrel racing world were just beginning. After graduating third in her class at Chappel Hill High School in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Maegan set off on the professional rodeo trail with her mother Denise.

Described as a classic overachiever, Maegan has proven her ability as she has seen success on two different horses: Andele Cowboy a.k.a. "Marvin" and Toucha Trouble a.k.a. "Trouble". With two scholarships on the table, one for rodeo, the other for academics, Maegan had to decide whether she would rodeo full time as a professional or split time between school and competition. Even though her chances at some of the bigger rodeos are somewhat restricted, Maegan wisely chose to attend University of Texas in Tyler, TX. and make what rodeos she could to keep her in the running for the NFR. It paid off for Maegan as she finished the 2008 season with a strong National Finals finishing #5 in world rankings.

Among Meagan's achievements in 2007 she won Reno, NV; Gladewater, TX; Sikeston, MO; Castle Rock, CO; Planes, MT; Dillon, MT; Gooding and Filer, ID. She also qualified for the NFR and moved up strongly to finish the season ranked #6 in the world. Along the way, the fashionable Maegan won honors as Best Dressed at the NFR and rode "Marvin" to win the award as AQHA Horse of the National Finals.

Unfortunately, Maegan suffered internal injuries from being kicked by Marvin while at a competition in Canada this year. She is home recovering at the time of this writing.
